How To Be Asked Again - Rosie Nickerson Inspired by an amusing book given to Rosie Nickerson as a young girl, published in 1979 by Debretts entitled 'I'll Never Be Asked Again' featuring a young Canadian girl who goes grouse shooting for the first time and gets everything wrong, 'How To Be Asked Again' is a step-by-step guide to modern shooting etiquette stuffed full of amusing quotes and anecdotes.
How To Be Asked Again instructs the Gun on how to be the perfect guest out shooting. Inspired by the fact that so many more people are taking up shooting as adults, it incorporates everything you are simply "expected to know" without anyone ever telling you. Covering a range of topics in a logical way, from the moment you receive a shooting invitation (aligned with invitation "Do's and Don'ts"), to arriving at the shoot, shooting safely, what never to say and even how to tip the keeper.
Much of this information comes from beaters, keepers, flankers, pickers up, shoot organisers and shoot owners, combined with hilarious cartoons by Oliver Preston, making this a very informative yet entertaining book on shooting – the perfect gift for any shooting man or woman, be they novice or experienced.

Reviews:
'Sub-titled How to be the Perfect Shooting Guest, this excellent book first appeared last year and its informative but entertaining style, dotted with anecdote, make it a perfect Christmas present.'
'This book is much more than the title implies and will be invaluable to anyone new to game shooting. It is also pretty useful for the old hands too. The brilliant illustrations by Oliver Preston give the book a life of its own. It's great advice from a real expert.'
'Improve your chances of being invited back to a shoot by following Rosie Nickerson's advice.'
'Stuffed with anecdote, wisdom and wit - lots of that - it is hugely entertaining. For anyone who does feel uncomfortable with the formalities of a driven shoot it is a godsend; read this and you won't put a foot, or a barrel wrong. But even the most experienced shot will find it useful and a pleasure to read... Oliver Preston's cartoons are a delight. But on the serious side, it is good to read a light-hearted book that, without the least hint of finger-wagging, subtly carries the important messages of courtesy, safety and respect for quarry. There couldn't be a better guide for the newcomer to game shooting.'
'... with some hilarious cartoons from Oliver Preston, this is a hugely entertaining book. Rosie has cast her net far and wide for anecdote and has come up with some real gems. Not forgetting, lots of good practical advice.'
'It is a credit to Ms. Nickerson, daughter of the great game shot Sir Joseph Nickerson... this is both an informative book and a fun read, the perfect gift for any shooter.'
'It's the question every novice shot and experienced Gun wrestles with: 'How to be asked again.' This wittily illustrated book is stuffed full of modern shooting etiquette, amusing quotes and anecdotes.'
